    Hi,

Just bought a Bosch Dishwasher (svg53e03gb/55 – FD8507) from eBay. It was sold as spares/repairs, with the reason being that it would no longer drain. The thinking that it was most likely the waste water pump that had broken, and being a bit handy and liking a challenge/bargain I bought it.

After getting it home I checked the filters and removed the pump, but nothing was obviously causing the issue. After putting it back together I connected the water feed to my outside tap, and plugged the dishwasher into the mains. Now this is where the confusion started.

    1) With the water feed turned on. As soon as I press the on/off button I can hear and see the dishwasher start to fill up. However it doesn’t stop, unless I physically switch it off. No sign of the waste water pump trying to get rid of the water building up.

    2) During this process none of the LEDs, on the control panel, came on at all. Which got me thinking that it may well be the control board that was causing the issue.

    3) I unplugged the machine, and dismantled the front panel to get at the control board. Once I had removed the control board, I tested the incoming Voltage with a Fluke multimeter, and when switched on there is voltage to the power connector.

Question – Is it going to be the control board that is faulty and needs replacing? or am I barking up the wrong tree!

    Any assistance is much appreciated.

    Regards

    Duncan

Almost a certainty the PCB is duff. The usual reason these machines get scrapped. However you will need also to look very closely at the water heater unit AND the main circulating pump as they too can really make your day get worse still. 🙁

    Cheers Martin,

That’s what I thought it was, after realising that voltage was getting to it, but no lights/LEDs. Oh well. Only cost me £10, so could have been a lot worse!

The PCB’s seem pretty expensive to replace (£100 ish), so will cut my losses and keep an eye out for a bargain of the brand new kind!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Duncan
