Bosch dishwasher not draining SGS5358GB/17

After wash cycle a small amount of water (higher than the drain filter screen) was seen. Went through the drain clear process ( not the first time this has happened in 12 years) also checked the non-return valve an amount of water came back down the drain pipe, next wash was ok, washed as normal and emptied correctly.
Following wash 2 days later the amount of water fills the whole base area, and after drain clear (also checked the non-return valve this time less water came back from the drain pipe , then test run, it ended with base area covered in water.
Ran the reset program and it counts down to 2 with water being sprayed/heated etc correctly, then it machine stops spraying water and there is a hum – small click like sound – hum – sound again until it hits 0, then stops.

Water level still high in base , see attached pictures.
Is the pump working ?
What else can i check ?

assume you know how to access the pump from inside. bit of glass etc can get caught jamming the pump intermittently. it not easy but you need to make sure there are no foreign bodies in the pump

I have only checked the impeller blades rotate not the mechanism behind this.
Is there a guide to accessing the pump body and checking if it is jammed ?

even though the pump rotates it is still possible to have a piece of glass lurking in the water jamming it every now and then. if you pump it out while your watching can you hear anything catchng the pump as its turning?

also as these pumps wear they get to a point where they fail to start intermittently

this unit is 17 years old not 12 and was part of a recall of dishwashers by Bosch for a potential fire hazard

correct checked with she that knows and yes it is 17 years old 🙂
The recall was activated and a youth came to change the module and put his sticker on, still have his beanie hat he left behind.
Is there a diagnostic test that will run the pump ?
As I said I ran the Reset and you can hear the water being pumped through the machine via the spinning arms, is there 1 pump that runs both wash and drain or are we looking at 2 pumps?
At the end of 20 minutes wash activity the reset ends at 2 with a machine hum
(is this the pump trying to run but jammed ).

Is it best to take the pump out to fully check if there is debris I do not see from the top ?

fill machine and then reset. when you reset drain pump activates to pump machine out before stopping.
if there is a problem with the pump then it should fail to do this

Should always test the obvious ,,, who said that ?

Checked the hose and it was clean but did not check the connector to the multi-drain.
Opened up the connector and there was my very own mini fat-berg disc that was blocking the dishwasher but not the main sink drainage.
Removed this and completed the test and draining correctly.
