Hope your substantial engineering minds can help me.

My Bosch Dishwasher is making a terrible clunking noise and will not empty its water. I’ve had it for 18 months.

I scooped out everything inside, cleaned the filters, clicked off the small
plastic thing to give me access to the inner compartment, but still couldn’t find any blockages.

I tried the “Reset” function, but there’s still a really bad noise.

The code numbers on the fixed plate read:

    SG543158GB/21

    SG543T58GB

    001051

    Type SL15013

…while the manual has the number 9000 104 145 (8506) on the front cover.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks, Lads.

I would say something small has worked its way past the filters into the pump housing and is being rattled around by the pump impeller.

It’s not unusual to find a piece of glass, tooth pick or small piece of bone causing this.

The only way you can access this is from underneath the machine.

If you decide to tackle this make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged first. :zap:

Thanks, Twoten. Will have a look.

Anyone else out there with any other suggestions?

Also – how do I find a list of independent, reputable engineers, one of whom would come and have a look at it if I can’t fix it? I don’t want to go back to Comet. Wd rather give my money to someone who’s self-employed. I live in South Lanarkshire in Scotland.

If you need an engineer http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/find-an-appliance-engineer.html is a good place to start.

    Hey

I have worked out that I can actually DRAIN the dishwasher, but turning the knob to the specific setting, after the programme has run.

What does this mean? Do I have a broken pump??

Re: Bosch Dishwasher Not Emptying/Making Bad Clunking Noise

Not necessarily, it could mean the drain pump has a foreign object jambing the impeller, but occasionally the object becomes dislodged and allows the machine to drain.

If the machine made a really bad noise when it was supposed to pump as stated in your original post and failed to drain I would still check the pump for blockages first.

    Remember:

Many Thanks, mate. Will try and unblock it, but with the help of one of the engineers I’ll call out through your repairs@ section of the site.

    Cheers.
