ParticipantHi
I have a Bosch dishwasher model number SRS43C12. Its 4 months old.
It is not pumping out so I called Bosch to have a look at it. Engineer said it was blocked and tried flushing it through several times with boiling water and running the 65 degree wash cycle. Ran it once yesterday and it seemed fine but this morning it hasnt pumped out again.
We have cleaned the filters and theres nothing trapped in them. I am gonna call Bosch out again but the engineer said if it was blocked with food then they would have to charge me for the call out. Surely if it blocks and the customer can’t recitfy the fault themselves then the dishwasher is not fit for the purpose for which it was manufactured?
So before I give them a ring does anyone have any ideas? Problem is compounded by the fact that we do not have the correct manual for this model so no instructions. I have tried the two reset buttons and it just seems to start running through a whole cycle rather than trying to pump out.
Thanks in advance
JN

If it’s blocked with food then it becomes customer misuse as any “lumps” should not even be in there in the first place, hence the charge, or possible charge.
When you phone Bosch customer services, ask them to send you manual, they are supplied free of charge. I’m sure the manual will help explain things more clearly for you, including the terms of the guarantee.
Hope this helps.

JN,
Test the pump and reset are very easy to do. Firstly to reset, with the machine switched on and running, simply depress the 2 programme buttons together (marked ‘reset’ – I think on this model it is the 1st and 3rd buttons, not sure?) and hold them for 3 seconds. The machine will stop its current activity and immediately pump for exactly 60 seconds and then switch off!
You should hear the pump whirring away all the while, that then indicates it isn’t jammed up anyway. Now checking to see if it isn’t blocked is a little messy only because it involves taking the end of the drain hose and blowing back up the pipe and into the dishwasher ( 🙁 ) It should not be hard and you should hear it bubbling away, which again indicates all is clear 🙂
Very often dishwasher drain hoses share the same pipe outlet as the sink, and major source of blockages is the coupling to the drain pipe under the sink. Taking it off and inspecting that connection can often cure all 😉

Probably wont’ hear water bubbling if you blow back down outlet hose as there is normally a non return valve fitted.
most likely a bit of broken glass in pump impellor (not covered by g/tee).
