ParticipantWe have a Bosch Exxcel dishwasher which has packed in after failing to drain and flooding it’s base. I think the model number is 5600041012/04/258/03 as that’s the only writing on the plate at the back, awkwardly positioned near the floor.
I drained the water from it and powered it up but nothing happened. There was a low humming from a motor somewhere inside but there was nothing on the display; no lights or anything. Now even the humming has stopped and there’s no sign of life when I power it up.
I’ve been inside it a few times in the past for various things but this seems a bit more final.April 10, 2021 at 10:54 am #476204electrofix
Moderatorthats not the model. your looking for an Enr number
if its fairly new check the plug at the rear where the mains wire plugs in. make sure its plugged in properly

ParticipantOk I’ll have another look around it for another number. It’s plugged in securely and the fuse is good.

Moderatorthese are great older models compared to this the new ones are complete rubbish
does sound like a timer issue
i would remove the timer, open it up and look for circuit damage as a starting point
also check the wires at the bottom of the door where they bend as have had breaks thereDave

ParticipantRight. I finally got around to this, after several weeks of hand-washing. I couldn’t find a video or guide for disassembly of this exact model but I gleaned enough to take the door apart and almost lose my fingertips when the hinges were released and they sprang back!
No damage done though.
anyway I got the timer unit out and as you suggested, it’s fallen over.
I’m going to look for a replacement timer so would welcome any suggestions as to where to get one. Fitting it is easy. Getting the door hinge mechanism back together might be the hard part!May 15, 2021 at 3:18 pm #476209BrianT
ParticipantPhotos to illustrate.

Moderatortimer is £114 but before you jump in we need to consider if there is a reason other than the timer for this failure

ParticipantOk good point. Leading up to this, we had numerous instances of it not draining, sometimes flooding the base, and on the Quick cycle (which we used most) it stopped working, so we had to use the longer Eco cycle, which was ok until this latest conk-out when it packed in completely.
I’ve checked all the wires and connectors visually and there’s no damage or burning other than what’s in the timer.May 15, 2021 at 4:48 pm #476212BrianT
ParticipantHi Dave
I found this which looks like the same module. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hotpoint-neff-bosch-Siemens-Module-Unit-C00211305-1801874-/233992437200?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286May 15, 2021 at 10:12 pm #476213electrofix

ModeratorBosch are showing zero stock
which means this site could not order it

ParticipantNo worries. I can get a decent second hand one for not much money. Just missed out on a very local Miele for £110 but I’ve found an almost identical Bosch model nearby for £20 so it wouldn’t be worth repairing the old one anyway.
Thanks for your help and advice nonetheless. -
