Bosch Dishwasher SGS 43T 02

Model SGS 43T 02 Purchased Oct 2003 The water does no completely empt at the end of the programme and the pump tries for a long time, some times it is left with detergent water in it. sometimes it is fine. How do I open the pump to see if it is blocked ?? I can remove the bottom panel and see it but though it looks as if I can twist off the bottom part of pump I feel I may break it. Should I call a repair man ( TA7 area) or scrap the machine ? Any help apreciated

First things first – is the appliance drain hose plumbed in or does it go straight to a standpipe ?
If its plumbed in direct to your sink waste , i’d be disconnecting that end first and checking that you havn’t got a build up of sludge in the connection ‘strangulating’ the drain hose and slowing down the drain time .

Have checked plumbed in waste and it seems O.K the pipe is rather long and twisty though not kinked Thanks for that, will see if it works to-day
