Capacitor is 167234 – £18.50 plus gubbins from Bosch. A pattern alternative may be found here:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/product_ … cts_id=309It’s rather less……… 😀

The capacitor could have a diagram printed on the unit or the value of the capacitor.
if it states eg, 3uF (3 micro farad) or some other value you could use a test meter with a capacitance measurement and check it against what is written on the side.
When they fail they usually split or leak.mr rugby

Yea they can but sometimes even when checked with suitable meter they read ok but under load they can breakdown. 😀

Hi folks
Back again. I received the part (great service) which is now fitted but I still seem to have the same problem. The part I took off had only two connections and the new one has four. Currently I have connected this diagonally opposite each other. Have I got this right or have I just embarrassed myself?!?

If you fit them diagonally opposite to each other you can’t get it wrong.

In that case I give up as I have done that and still no joy. Just fills up with water then I might get a clunk and nothing else! Do you stock the wash pump part or if not can you let me know where I might get one and any idea on price? Failing that are there any engineers in the Hailsham, East Sussex areas I could contact?

Oh dear – sounds like you’ve done what you can.
Use the repairs@ link below – if you pop in your postcode, it’ll find your local UKW engineers for you.
