ParticipantBosch dishwasher SGS46E08GB/01. The motor had got wet and therefore burnt out a winding. I fitted a new motor and cured the leak. But, the motor will start once and pump lovely, then stops and does nothing else!
There is a relay on the motor, could thid be the problem??Please help.

Could have blown a triac on the PCB too maybe?
What puzzles me though is the fact you stated that “The motor got wet…..?” How did it possibly get wet other than when the base floods but then usually the float switch cuts out long before water gets anywhere near to the motor windings. 😕
Dunno? Bit odd that TBH but also the new motor could possibly have a twisted frame and therefore stiff to turn? It runs for a while then the TOC trips as it overheats maybe?

Did you turn the water on, the pump out only lasts 20 seconds or so, then it stops and the fill valve activates.
Can you give more detail, does the pump stop after its filled or before ?

There was a water mark half way up the motor body, and customer says that they had a flood. I checked the float switch which seems ok and does work manually. Its a strange one on me too.
The machine will start as normal. Starts to pump out, then takes in the right amount of water, then starts to circulate the water. Then it stops. does not do a thing from then on!!!!!!!

That amount of water saturation would also take out the diverter valve motor on the heater box then I would think? I’d take a real close look at the PCB surface components TBH. It’s not sounding good this one.:(

stick a meter on it and see if its being fed volts when it stops.

Yes, I have got voltage at the motor when it stops.
But there is a relay on the motor which it seems that power is not switching through.December 2, 2009 at 1:23 pm #305331Martin

Live feed, neutral switching don’t forget. Have a look at the PCB if only to appease my curiosity. 😀
