ParticipantI attended the above dishwasher which wasn’t draining, checked all the hoses, filters etc for a blockage, nothing found, fitted a new pump, not much improvement !!
the water inlet chamber looked fairly grotty up by the breather but that flushed out with not too much trouble, but still the water is pumping away very slowly
any ideas ?

Glass in the drain chamber – it’s caught me out more than once.

Have you checked spigot, drain hose attaches to under sink for blockages?

Hi
thanks for your swift replies I thought I’d be the only silly bugger up at this time.
The drain hose is straight into a down pipe so spigot Greg, thanks anyway.
when you say the drain chamber do you mean the sump area Chris? I have taken the removeable cover off and even tried running the machine without the rubber valve but no difference. I have been poking my fingers down the holes around the drain pump impellor but felt no glass in this area, I pushed a lenghth of 1/4 rubber hose up the drain hose from each end but felt no resistance.May 23, 2006 at 10:08 pm #177432bobokines

I have been caught here! Twice!
Remove the left hand side panel and follow the hose from the anti-syphon tank to the pump. You will find a floating blockage in the hose.
I have had a cashew nut shell that floated in the water (and acted as a one way valve) and a piece of plastic from the top of a carton of orange juice.
Good luck
Bob
