ParticipantThis dishwasher has two problems
1) Noise coming from the sump, sounds like a dry rubber seal rubbing against a spindle? Best description I can give, the noise has been there for a while now and does not seem to affect wash cycles…
2) Will not heat water so will not progress through wash cycle.
So far I have done the following and checked the following for fault No.2
If rinse cycle used the dishwasher performs as it should, water enters you can hear both spinners running and water empties, with the display reading 0 as one would expect
L/H panel off, checked water entry, all ok, pressure valve works cutting off water, water flow through pipe to sump looks fine, only suspect point I have is the red float which I believe works to stop over filling, is that correct or is the red float for something else? No sign of any leaks
R/H Panel off, disconnected one wire from spade terminal on heater and resistance reading given is 23.7 Ohms… No sign of any leaks
Front Cover off, removed controller and inspected can see some over heating by the larger of the three monoblocs (JS1-12v AJS1311) the three legged IC below the monobloc looks to have blown its top!!! so no identification marks…
My assumption is the controller is faulty, however if I replace the unit or have it repaired could there be something elsewhere in the dishwasher that is causing the controller to blow?
Also elsewhere on this forum someone suggested they used a person on eBay to repair their controller, does anyone know who that Person is?
I had hoped to attach some pictures for you but I have not worked that out as yet.
Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Thanks PBSmith,
Since my last post I put the machine back together, Turned the machine on to make sure the fault was still occuring on;y to get that tell tale Loud Pop and then the smell and trail of smoke from teh controller board. Definately needs a new controller now, but is it worth it in this machine as it’s approx 7 years old? I’m thinking not. -
