Got this Bosch Dishwasher with a burning smell coming from inside the machine, it has the sort of smell you get when a heater inside the tub has come on without water in the machine. Only this machine has the heater in the base in a separate housing, can these give off that sort of smell and why?
The RRP of this unit is £130.84 !!!

    Thanks for looking

Before changing the heater , i’d be looking at the control module board and maybe the Interference capacitor suppressor at the rear .

    Thanks for the reply nomadPaul
Would these make it smell inside the tub and the smell does seem to get stronger as the temperature rises

As Paul says, the most usual cause is the module or the mains filter. The smell can permeate all over the appliance, inside and out. By the time the mains filter starts to cook it’s usually blown the trip or fuse by then so the module is the main suspect at this point in time.

Have you checked them both since Paul posted his reply?
