I have just scrapped my 5 year old dishwasher (SRS43C22GB) because the drying heater started to cause the external black insulating material to emit an offensive “organic” smell which persisted for several hours after it was finished and permeated the house.
I purchased a replacement, again Bosch(SPS53E12GB), and have now washed 8 loads, the offensive smell is still there, quite noticeable as might be expected for the initial couple of loads, but after 8 loads the smell is still there, not as intense and it disappears quite quickly.
The Bosch washer which we replaced 5 years ago gave 10 years service and never emitted any smells.
Is this smell now the norm or does it indicate something amiss ?
