Hi There, I am in need of some serious help! I have a Bosch dishwasher, E-NR SMS 5092 GB/11, and it will not drain. I have read all the good words in the forum but none mention this thing I have connected to the inlet/outlet/electrical side called ‘AQUA STOP’. Am I right in thinking that this gadget is unique to my model, and what are the chances of this thing failing? I cannot see the outlet hose because it is encased in a large diameter grey coloured flexi-hose along with the electrical wiring for the ‘AQUA STOP’ unit. I have had both ends of the outlet pipe off and tried to blow it through each way but it is absolutely solid. Could this be the unit doing its thing or should I cut the outer sheathing away to expose the pipe? The pump is turning alright. Thanks in anticipation for your ideas. Jon C.

The outlet pipe does not go through the aquastop, it simply runs through a common sheath so if you access both ends of it then you should be able to blow through it. If you can’t then there is simply a blockage in it.

Accessing the machine end of this hose is extremely difficult (not really DIY), and if you tried blowing through from just the drain end without disconnecting the non-return flap valve will prevent you from doing this.

If you need an engineer then have a look in Repairs@ for someone local to you.
