I have a Bosch dishwasher which has developed a fault where the detergent dispenser does not open during any of the cycles. I’ve narrowed down the fault to either the wax motor or the feed into the motor.

I’d like to test the electrical feed coming from the connector into the wax motor and also if possible manually activate the wax motor. I have a multimeter but am unsure how to run any of these tests.

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks

Replace it without bothering to test it. They are notorious for blowing the main circuit board when they fail so you’d best check the main circuit board too while you’re at it!

I replaced the wax motor but it hasn’t made any difference unfortunately. If the main circuit board had gone too would I be able to tell?

The dishwasher is working fine all except the wax motor isn’t opening the dispenser door.

What of the latch on the dispenser door, does that operate correctly if you were to simulate the wax motor’s action?
