Bosch Display Module

Hi

Can anyone help with the right hand display module for a Bosch HBN4950GB.

The Bosch part number is 267453 and I had to pick myself up off the floor when I got the price from their website (£245.59)

The part that has failed is the CPU (EBS_2_GM V1.75_38838) which is a £5 part at the most. It’s a bit frustrating that it appears one can only buy the whole module and not just the PCB.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bosch sell boards. Electronics suppliers sell components. As a repairer, I don’t have time to search for individual components. Radio Spares, Maplins, CPC, Farnells and the rest are the places to look.

That’s the problem – in this case, they don’t sell the board, only the complete module. If I could just buy the board, I’d be happier.

The failed component is specific to this oven so it won’t be found at RS or Farnell. I didn’t expect to be able to buy that – was merely moaning!

The question is, is there any cheaper way of getting the module other than spending half the original purchase cost of the oven?

Mmmm – not really. Might be worth googling Quality Electronic Repairs and seeing if there’s anything they can do. Don’t get your hopes up too high.

Thanks for your help. I’ll give them a call.

I suspect I will end up scrapping the oven as £250 is a lot to spend on an eight year old unit.

All caused because a lamp blew and the manufacturer was too cheap to add a 10 pence fuse to the design…
