Have a call to go and see this.customer says there is black bits on pots after cycle has finished, have no model number,but is around 3 years old. anyone come across this before ?

Check the water level is correct. Could be the normal blocked hose which runs from the float tank to the sump. The fact the bits are black could be of no relevance, its just the fact that their getting a poor wash.

Hi
I have come across older machines with perished rubber as door seals and that can leave black marks which looks like tiny dots of tar.
if this is the case try the lower door seal.
