    Hello,
This dishwasher start a strange grinding like sound immediately when the start button is pressed. Then when the dishwasher is washing, the sound change to intervals: noise one sec, one sec pause, noise one sec etc….
This have been going on since Christmas and I can’t really say it grows worse…
I recorded the sound and tried to upload is as an mp3 attachment, but wasn’t allowed to.
    Any tips would be great.
As my wife believes it will come to a complete stop anytime soon I’m free to disassemble the whole thing 🙂

    Kind Regards,
    Jan

take the left hand side off. there is a little red float in a unit in the middle. as you run it you will see that float going up and down. this start the drain pump.

take it apart and clean it out along with the hose that goes out the front of it and it wlll probalbly be fine and apart from time no cost at all

    done loads of them

    Hello Dave & all
Finally did what you suggested, but the cleaning didn’t resolve the issue.
But when the walls were removed I found the sound to come from this unit.
Anyone know what it is and how to replace it?

thats the heater assembly 483257 as per above diag

this unit has the divertor valve in it where a little motor alternates the water flow between top and bottom bars. in normal use they are almost silent. never had one making a noise you can hear but there is always a first time

if you google the part no and click images you will see the motor
