Hi, My parents have an integrated larder fridge. Bosch KIR2640GB/32 FD8011. Last time I visited my dad (an engineer 82 next month!)said that hinges had been stopping it from closing & he’d fixed some magnetic catches to keep it shut. I was worried it was no where near cold enough (he’d turned it down as it was freezing up on back). This time its full of condensation & water’s running out from underneath it(overflowing drip tray from behind?)Fridge is mounted on mdf shelf which is now constantly wet. Temp’s only getting down to 9 degs c. So door def. isn’t shutting and sealing properly. I think a pair of hinges from your site (Hettich)are £50 & fridge is 12 years old. Is it worth getting new hinges or is fridge likely to pack up soon? or is there a quick fix I could try on these hinges? And is leaking from underneath caused by another fault or just excess condensation? (there is masses!)Also, is there anyone in Morpeth/Newcastle area (they live close to Newcastle airport)who could come and fix it? (used your Find engineer, but nearest was quite a way away). Thanks for your help -sorry for so many ?s but don’t like to leave them like this 😥

Faulty hinges will prevent the door shutting properly and this will cause high temp and motor running constantly as the unit tries to cool itself.. this in turn will create loads of condensation.
Effectively, you should replace any faulty hinges to remedy.. another way to look at it is that if the problem isnt remedied soon then the cost of the excess electricity could soon mount to the cost of the replacement hinges.
