Been to two Bosch machines this morning, at different houses.

WTA4408GB/01 Tumble dryer, heating element OC. How easy is this to change, looks like a bit of a bacon slicer job?

WFB2004GB/27 Washer, is this a Spanish made job?

Customer complained that door seal had come off, which sounded strange. My examination revealed that the drum was out of line. Either the drum support has failed or the drum itself has distorted and it is fouling on the seal.

Does this happen on these machines? I am guessing that cost of repair will be excessive. 😥

Yes it is Jim and often the drum bearing support spigot bolts come adrift (threads go either on the bolt or in the spigot!) 🙁

Thanks Martin, guess you have not done one of those dryers yet then. ❓

No Jim I haven’t, but looking at the schemetic drawing of one, I should think I will share that pleasure sooner rather than later? 😆

    Best of luck!

Pretty easy job TBH Jim (the dryer).

Back panel comes off. Then remove screws around “shiny” panel, There’s also one more on the main back panel bottom left.

But you’re right it can slice your fingers if not careful 😈

Well I got the green light on the dryer but the washer is a no go.

Makes you think really. I have today installed ISE No:38, it replaced a 25 year old Hotpoint 18580 that had a faulty timer. Tomorrow ISE No:39 goes in to replace this 4 or 5 year old Bosch. 😥

    Thanks to all,

    Jim.
