I have a customer with a Bosch WTL6102GB/02 electronic dryer. Fault = No heat? I find the thermal trip (183832 Temp- limiter) has tripped. Initially I thought it was due either to the machine being bunged up with fluff or the customer was turning it of prematurely? 😕

Now both fans are clear as is the condenser matrix, all ducting is clear and the machine appears to operate normally for at least 2 complete cycles, sometimes three? I’ve been there twice now to reset it and asked the customer if any error lights are flashing on the front panel when it goes wrong? Apparently not and the lady empties the water container and cleans the lint filter every time as well!

So, I can only conclude that the TOC is at fault (so called nuisance tripping perhaps?)……My only other reservation is the amount of air entering the front fan/grill? It seems that there’s plenty of draft (suction) created by the input fan but I’m not totally sure it’s enough? When you put a lighted cigarette lighter flame next to the grill it extinguishes the flame good enough but that’s hardly a very scientific a test proving one way or the other really.

I’m ordering a new TOC but I’m not convinced that is the problem as I personally have never had probs with Bosch TOC’s in the past. Perhaps someone can reassure me otherwise? 😕

What in the PCB you mean? 😕

I was kinda hoping there were some error codes (i.e flashing LED’s) that would indicate the department of trouble here?
I’ve now got a replacement Thermal Cut Out and am going to fit it tomorrow. But I’m less than convinced that’s the problem?

    Help!

Where is dryer situated ie tiny room no adventitious air, are they obstructing the front grill vent at any time, overloading ?

No Greg the utility room a fair size, no obstructions (certainly when I call at least?) and I’ll ask about loading but I don’t think they are overloading? They just transfer a normal load from their Bosch w/m straight into the dryer.

Do these machines have error codes (i.e flashing led’s) when fault occurs?
