Bosch DW detergent dispenser problem

We have a slimline Bosch DW – model number unknown – but it is about 10 years old and has given excellent service.

We’re having a problem with the door on the detergent dispenser. The spring release mechanism is no longer holding it in place until the correct part of the wash cycle.

Will this be an easy problem to resolve?

Without a model number or as it`s known on Bosch appliances an enr no. it`s an impossible task i`m afraid. ENR no. can be found either along the top metal edge of the door just left of centre stamped into the metal or on a label on one of the upright door edges.

Original reciept or instruction booklet may reveal the info if you still have them.

It’s an SRS4302GB/02.

The part number for the full dispenser is 490467 and retails at about £43+ V.A.T
It may be possible to just replace the lid and spring but this is not always successful.

Is replacing the dispenser a straightforward task?

Deadly….. Power and door outer off, bend back the lethally sharp locking tongues to release the old dispenser, bend them back down, then force the new dispenser into place.

You will cut yourself.

What a pallaver and unbelievably crude. I’m not convinced that the seal will be watertight.
