Bosch Excel WAE 32464UK heating the rinse water

Searching for an answer to my problem I read the following problem and it sounds exactly the same as mine.

I have a Bosch Excel WAE 32464UK, 8 1/2 years old and no problems until recently. It has been heating the rinse water on some cycles and now, last week, heated up a 60C wash to much more than that before rinsing. It felt way beyond a boil wash! I can actually hear the machine heating the water on the rinse cycles.

Before you ask, it’s plumbed to the cold supply and has been since the machine was installed.

What I really need to know is, what the fault is, how much would it be to fix and am I better off buying a new washing machine?

The main control unit is at fault ( i.e the heater relay on the PCB is stuck on). If you are a whiz with soldering and electronics then this fault is right up your alleyway. If not then a new control board is quite an expense to consider.

Thank you for that Martin. My husband is definitely not a whiz with soldering and electronics and neither am I so it looks as if it is a new machine 🙁

I’m quite disappointed really as I previously had 2 Zanussis that gave me good service in the past. Both lasted more than 10 years, longer than this Bosch which I bought on the basis of their reputation and the fact that a lot had changed in the Zanussi world of washing machines. Might be looking up the Miele aisle for the next one.
