ParticipantOur Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express (WFX2467GB/10) has just poured water all over the floor from the front right hand corner!
It had gone through a 40° wash and had got to the (final?) rinse when the water started to pour out as it was being filled.
After emptying the machine I checked underneath and couldn’t see anything obviously ‘leaky’, just a wet area around the front right hand corner and hoses, with some spray across to the left hand panel. With the rinse/refresh programme selected the machine fills to well past half way up the door window and then water starts to leak out as before.
The machine will pump out without any dramas so I assume it’s something to do with the fill valve not closing or the sensor not telling it to?
Anyone able to offer any advice on a fix?

Sounds like you have two problems…
1) The air chamber is blocked with gunge causing the pressure switch blockage.
2) There’s a small hole in the grey door boot and as the water level rises it leaks.January 5, 2014 at 4:28 pm #407132digital

Thanks.
I’ve checked the grey door seal and can’t see a hole (and any hole would be quite large to let out water at the speed we’re seeing!).
Could you describe where the air chamber is, and how to check for gunge, and I’ll have a look.

Correction! There is a hole in the door seal. Is the seal easy to replace?

Things are getting worse.
I have put the wet washing from the failed wash into the machine to spin some of the water out of them but, with the machine set to ‘Spin’, it pumps out (I can hear water being removed) as it counts down from 11 minutes to 10, continues to pump out for another minute or so and then the time display jumps to 1 minute with five of the timeline blocks filled in. It stays like that for another minute without any pumping or spinning until the timeline is suddenly completed and the display shows -0-.
At no time is there any attempt to spin: the drum motor doesn’t start.
Any ideas on just what is happening would be welcome.

I refer you to my earlier reply ( the air chamber is at the end of the thin rubber hose adjoining the sump hose by the way 😉 )

Ah! Thanks! I didn’t know where the air chamber was and was imagining that the latest issues were something in addition to the leak.
Do I disconnect the thin rubber hose adjoining the sump hose and just clean out anything I find in the hose and the connection? Or is there more to removing the gunge?

Just remove and clean. Check the hose for possible air leak (punctures). Door boot replacing and access to sump via front panel removal. Have fun! 😀

I’m sure it’s going to be fun! Many thanks for your help.

Well, after a good deal of trouble removing the screw next to the detergent drawer to release the front panel, I’ve replaced the door seal!
However, despite releasing and blowing through the thin black pipe which connects the drum assembly to the white plastic drain hose assembly at the top rear right of the machine, releasing and blowing bubbles through the black pipe with the longitudinal ribbing which connects to the white plastic assembly at the top front right and blowing bubbles through the drain pipe which extends from the bottom front right of the machine, there’s still no drum movement.
If I set the machine to the rinse programme, the drum fills with water, there are double timer-type clicks every 30 seconds without any movement anywhere, and then the water is pumped out.
Have I missed a blockage in a pipe somewhere or is there another fault?

From your lengthy report you didn’t mention checking the air chamber to pressure switch system. That is what I referred to and not the air break hoses at the top of the machine. As for the motor not turning I would suggest you check the motor brushes.
