ParticipantOur Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express has taken to leaving the washing quite wet at the end of the cycle. It appears to spin OK but, previously, everything came out much dryer. A separate spin will dry things a little more but still not as much as originally.

Thanks for the suggestion: I haven’t, only the impeller housing through the removable access at front, bottom right.
Where would I find the filter?

I think that is the filter, it’s the part that you pull out to see the pump impeller.
Next stop is probably the carbon brushes in the motor but we’d need the ENR or model number to tell you what ones it was etc.

Hmm…..? If it spins the brushes are at least sound. The problem most likely is the water isn’t draining away fast enough. So if the pump trap (aka Filter) is clear then either the hose to it or from it are partially blocked by something. If the drain hose terminates at a shared coupling with the sink then that needs removing and checking too.

Thanks for the responses.
The brushes were replaced a couple of years ago and the pump trap/filter is clear. I’ll check that water can exit freely. The drain hose is hooked over an open waste pipe so any blockage must be in the hose itself (there’s no water on the floor!).

or the hose from the drum to the pump. if you use colour catchers they are a curse.
the sump hose contain a plastic ball ( as it leaves the tub ) which means it lets water through but can trap other things

I’ve tried to ignore this problem over the past several months but the operator is becoming less and less happy. She wants it fixed!
All of the internal and external hoses are clear, and the spin seems to be up to speed.
The only other oddity I have noticed is that, after being away for three weeks, we came back to a machine with a lot of water in the drum. Not up to the door, but visibly covering the bottom. Could it be that the water inlet valve has become lazy and is letting water through when it should be closed? Could it be partially opening during a spin?

you inlet valve is not sealing properly but its only a drip every now and then so will not affect the spin but its a warning that if you go away for any length of time turn the water off. I do to the whole house if I go away for more than a few days
I would run the machine on a rinse with no clothes in it. then either wait or select pump and see how long the machine takes to drain. what your looking for is the water to drain at a reasonable rate. your looking to drain all the water in under 1.5 mins or there abouts
also you say hoses are clear but how did you check?. What you have to remember is if you blow down a hose it can seem clear even with a partial blockage but water will find it a lot more difficult
would not be the first time I have found a button jammed half way up an outlet hose. Also you say the hose is in an open waist pipe, make sure it is only in the top of the pipe no more than about 8 inches, it should not be pushed to the bottomDave

Thanks.
Water in the house was turned off while we were away but someone came round to check the house each week and they turned the water on while they were there so they could use the toilet. It was also turned on for a day after our return before we used the machine.
I checked the hoses were clear by removing them where possible, and squashing them along their length where it was not.
The outlet pipe is hooked over the top of the waste pipe and not pushed down into it.
I’ll do the rinse check when the current load has finished. In the meantime, is there any other possible cause for the problem?

if water has only been on a bit it means one of your inlet valves is failing and it can only get worse so you will have to keep an eye on it
most common cause of no spin is out of balance loads. been to a few houses where they think its ok to spin 1 pair of jeans and called me in after it fails
most of the time if it will do the full spin with no load it will do it with a load provided its balanced
