ParticipantHi,
Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express (WFO2465GB/01) has developed a fault whereby it does not fully switch off the water when full.
It will commence filling, then when drum reaches its normal fill level it partially switches off the water. I believe there are two inlet valves on this model feeding two inlets on the dispenser. As far as I can tell, one of these valves is not switching off. If I turn the water off manually at the stop-valve, then on again, no more water flows. It’s as if the “stuck” inlet valve is unable to close against the pressure but will happily close when water pressure is removed.
If I *don’t* switch the water off manually, the drum will fill to around the 2/3rds mark before the drain pump starts. Note that the inlet valve is still allowing water in. The drum eventually drains, as the pump capacity is greater than the inlet valve flow (which is quite a relief!). However, the control module throws a fault code (“spin” LED flashing) to indicate a blocked/faulty pump. This is presumably because it’s taking too long to drain the drum with all that additional water entering at the top 😉 .
Note: The pump is most definitely not blocked.
So far I’ve checked the drum full sensor (healthy click if I blow lightly into it) but without a pin-out I can’t tell if the contact is healthy. I’ve blown through the fill sensor hose and it appears to be clear.
My conclusion thus far is that either the inlet valve or the control module is faulty. The valve looks to be a fairly easy swap, but I can’t see how to remove the control module. Any hints on this would be appreciated, as would any other wisdom on what might be wrong with the machine.
Cheers, Steve

It’ll be the valve that’s faulty. Ask spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for p/no 171261.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. Valve ordered from UK Whitegoods on Sunday evening, arrived today, and fitted in ten minutes. Washing machine now working perfectly again. 😀
Cheers, Steve
