    Hello all,
First post here, I’m at a loss to diagnose and fix my Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express Maxx washing machine, where the count down timer and delay start timer (3 digit display) is not working.
The model number is WFO 2865 UK / 01

There’s a bit of history with this machine in that it failed to compete a wash and this turned out to be a heater element. Unfortunately I initially thought it wasn’t draining so had all the pipes off to clean out the years of guck, then filled the machine with clean water directly into the drum with a jug and ran the drain program. I also added a bit of hot water into the soap tray during a spin cycle (more cleaning) and I think it was then that the timer display went out. Pretty sure all the water was contained with in the machine ie no water in the electrics. I wonder if the machine detected a temperature rise during these shinanigans?

Surprisingly the machine wasn’t completely broken, I ran the wash programs and I subsequently found the heater not working. It had failed open circuit. While I was in there I checked the thermistor, it’s resistance was 7 kohm at room temp, 3.8 kohm in hotish water so I assumed this was good.

Heater element replaced, machine now working through all the programs I have tried.

And get this, even though the delay start isn’t displaying anything, setting the machine ready to run and pressing the delay start button once does result in 1 hour delayed start – it operates correctly.

Clearly, having the display working would be good though. Any ideas ?

I’m not sure if the machine has recorded a fault, I have noted if I hold the power button in and turn the program dial to 6 o’clock position, continue to hold power button, then 3 lights come on continuous.

I’m also not sure how to clear faults on this machine as it has a turn dial spin speed and no button.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
