    Hi All, looking for some pointers to solve spin problem on Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express washing machine please.
    E-Nr: WFX2867GB/06
    FD: 8406

    Problem originally occurred during an EasyCare wash program & there may have been a ‘thud’ noise but not close enough to be sure. After the wash/rinse/drain phases, the spin phase never gets up to speed so clothes remain wet.

    With an empty load, the drain program works as expected. The spin program empties the water, although the pump seems to run for longer than usual. The (empty) drum then starts to rotate but immediately slows down again. This repeats a few times. Eventually the status display jumps to 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and 01 min remaining. A minute later the status changes to 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} completed.

    I have checked the filter but this was clean. Is there anything else I can try? Is there a reset procedure?
    Thanks in anticipation.

    The earth potential on the motor is the likely problem. In other words there is a live leak to earth across the armature and brush gear. The electronic ‘logic’ of the machines software detects this and fails to increase speed.

    You will need to remove and thoroughly check the motor. Given its age the carbons will need replacing and all carbon dust cleaned away from the brush housing. The armature could be suspect so you’ll need check it’s insulation with a meter (preferably a Megger).

    Hi,

    Thank you for getting in touch regarding your Bosch washing machine.

    We are sorry to hear of the difficulties experienced with your appliance and can confirm that there is an imbalance being detected in the load. This can happen when a load is too small or too large. The sensor will detect this and the cycle will not complete as usually expected. All of which will be explained in the user manual. Please be assured we are happy to advise, it doesn’t sound like a product fault.

    If you do need further assistance or support please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team on 03448 928 979 who will be happy to help you further.

    Thanks,

    @Simon46
    , @Martin – Many thanks for your suggestions, I will change the brushes & check the motor.

    @Tammy
    , not sure it’s a load imbalance as the problem also occurs when the spin cycle is run with no clothes, i.e. empty drum. But thanks anyway, it’s good to see manufacturers supporting their customers.

    Cheers.
