Bosch Exxcel 1400 spinning slowly

Dear All
Hello.
I have a Bosch Exccel 1400 which has suddenly began to spin very slowly.
If there is a load in the machine it does not spin. I can hear a slight rasping sound when it does spin on empty.
Can anyone help?

Remove the mains plug and check the motor brushes.

NB. don’t keep trying it until you have checked it out, you can make it much worse if you do. 😉

Thanks for response , will do as you suggest.
I thougth it may be the brushes but I thought if that was the case the machine would not spin at all?

Hi lou,

My next door neighbour had exactly the same as your problem and hers was the bushes. Had man in, bushes replaced and ‘hey, presdo’ 😀

I think you will find that BUSHES are those green things in your garden, there is however a very strong possibility that the BRUSHES are faulty. 😆

Hope ya’all had a good christmas. Mine was spent running around after everyone else as i was the only one who didnt have the flu :rolls:

Still ‘loving’ my 1607. It washes sooo much better than any other machine i have ever owned (even got rid of some very stubborn white deodorant marks from my sons black work t-shirt, that i had given up trying to scrub off!)
