ParticipantBosch Washing Machine – Model WFO285SGB/08
Hi,
My washine machine is leaking all its water during my last wash cycle at the filter cap or fluff filter at the bottom right hand corner of the machine housed under a drop down flap. It started leaking after my sister was draining the water from the tube at the side of the filter cap. Now we can’t stop the water leakage. Is the filter cap normally removable? Ours just turns around 45degrees in one direction and back again. I can’t pull it out? Not sure if I should be able to or not? I want to attemp to replace or check it myself. As a complete novice in washing machine repairs I need help to access the fluff filter. I can see two screws to the left and the right of where the fluff filter is. Is this where I can access it from. 😕 Looks like I need a special ‘star’ shaped head screw driver. Where can I purchase one of these?
Many thanks for your help in advance. 🙂

yes the filter should come all the way out
if yours does not then you have prob got hair clips or bra wires stuck in the filter entrance
to remove you have pull machine out and tilt it back. u ndo that screw which is a torx20 size available from most places that sell tools these days and drop the pump down being careful of the electrical wire then with a large pair of pliers remove the clip holding the hose from the drum. you will then be able to put your fingers in the pump inlet and remove debris until you can take out the filter
clean everything and replaceDave
make sure machine is unplugged first and floor is not slippyAugust 5, 2011 at 8:18 am #356533P88VEN

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your speedy response. Have taken off the bottom cover as you have suggested which then exposes another base plate/cover. I am really struggling to get a pair of pliers around through the gap to undo the clamp. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks again.

take out plug!!!
remove kickstrip ( 1 torx screw and slide to the right )
take of base plate (if yours has on ) 4 screws
undo screw holding pump to fram at front 1 screw
with machine tilted up drop pump down being carefull to remove wire
use plier to remove larg hose going into pump beware there may be some water in this so you will need some old towels etc
