Hello, I am looking for help regarding a fault that has developed on my washing machine. It has no blocks in the filter, the drain pipe to the sink is clear, but it will not drain. Is there anything else I need to check? Is it possible that the machine has a block elsewhere inside of it that will cause the pump not to drain? Currently it is full of water ( not clothes as I was testing it), but I cannot drain it either. The small rubber hose will not drain, and I cannot think of any other way to empty it! Does anyone have any advice on that? Can I drain it by removing the sump tube from the underside? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Christer.

Yes I believe you are right Dave. I turned it upside down, and I massaged the sump pump, and it moved the water a bit unblocking something there, allowing the machine to then decide that the door could be opened. I tipped it up, removed the water with a jug, and mopped up the last bit in the drum with a towel. Then I moved it into another part of the kitchen, ready to be removed as I’ve already ordered a new washing machine. I was going to try to repair it, but it’s more than 6 years old, so time for a change anyway. Thanks for replying Dave, I appreciate it.
