ParticipantWe have a BOSCH Exxcel Dishwasher (SGS66E02GB / FD 8311 000064). I noticed the other night that it seemed to be taking an inordinate amount of time to run through the programme. Eventually the timer got down to 0:01 minute but it never actually completes the programme… (it never moves from Wash – Rinse – Drying.
The residual water within the machine feels cold.
I have checked the exit waste pipe for any blockage and it seems fine. (I also checked the u-bend under the sink (just in case) but again it was clear).
There is a black insulation on the back of the machine which appears to have melted against the plug and also against the waste pipe – I am not sure if this is significant or not?
Problem is unit doesn’t complete it’s programme, counts down to 0:01. I can hear the pump running and the residual water is cold which suggests to me it is not heating…
Any advice / suggestions?
Cheers.

Yep, sure sounds like that’s the reason. So your next move is to check out the heater. 😀

Any idea how to access the heater? I have been unable to locate a schematic for this machine so unsure where the heater element is? I am assuming it is most likely underneath the machine but could also be at the back?
Any ideas?
Cheers.

Sounds like a its not heating. Test the Element, And is the D/W filling with enough water, As this will stop the heater cumming on.

Sounds to me like the heating element too but there other causes.
You should be able to find the diagram of your machine from one of the models here (http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/result?vibki=SGS66E02GB).
The 1 minute display is apparently an error code showing that it is not reaching its desired temparature.
Have you followed the steps on this thread? http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=40632
