HI All looking some advise went to put the Dishwasher on this morning, Noticed the Check water light was on and the water in the bottom of Dishwasher had not drained away. After doing various searches I have done and checked the following:-

Checked the Supply Water line, Water Line filter, Drainage pipe, Drainage Pump and Sink U Bend for blockages (all were clear). Put machine on reset and water drained out fine.

Put Machine on wash, No Check Water light but when machine was washing it did not seem to be making a swishing noise as when the arms are rotating just a trickling water sound. Any time i opened the machine to check the arms had not moved No obstructions.

I removed the arms and the Pipes feeding them, Checked for blockages/debris and all clear. I took machine apart to check the Impeller of the Re-circulation pump to also check for Debris and all clear. Whilst I was checking the Pump one of the connectors came off. Have i got them in the correct order?

Now when I put machine on a Wash the Check water light is on, Machine fills does not wash as I can see the Re-circulation Motor not working. Not sure If i connected up correctly or if it is faulty. How can I check?

Over the last few weeks I had noticed that some washes had not cleaned the dishes thoroughly could this be related?

a lot of problems with fill tend to stem from a device called an impeller jug

    go here

    http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search

    put in your E number

select diagrams and go to page 5

item in question is position number 0529

its job is to count the water in

other fill problems are involved with blockages in item 0418 on page 4

Thanks for the reply, Will get the Impeller jug ordered. Im assuming there is no way to test prior to ordering?

Also i will look to clean the second item, I noticed there is alot of gunk/scale around that area.

Am i understanding this correct that the Impeller Jug could cause a weak water flow withing the dishwasher and me thinking it was the Re-circulation pump is incorrect?

no impellor miscount water in when it fails. causes check water light to come on and can cause overfill problems
if it is filling slowly then the water valve may be at fault.

if you run unit with left hand side off you can see what is going on.

Re: Bosch Exxcel Check Water Light on

Thanks again for your help, Replaced the Impeller jug today and its now working fine (on a Wash now).

I hope you don’t mind if i ask another question. Does the upper Spray arm ever fail?
The reason I ask is for a number of months now I have always suspected that the Upper Spray Arm was not rotating (Any position i put it in it does not seem to move when i open the machine suddenly) and with me cleaning so many pipes and motors I can rule out any obstructions or restricted pipes. It seems to be very loose and I am wondering if it had worn from me putting metal trays on the sides and it impacting them over time (the machine is close to 10 yrs old)

    Again thanks for your help

Re: Bosch Exxcel Check Water Light on

not had one fail but a few point to note

1 if anything jams the bar from either deck it wont turn

2 if there are no dishes in the top deck it wont turn as easily as it needs the dishes to push against

3 there is a valve in the heater unit that alternates the water between top and bottom decks so if you open the door and the unit is mostly feeding the bottom bar the top may not turn. if you listen to a wash you can hear a sound change as its washing

assume you have checked both bars for debris
