ParticipantHi, as i live on my own i quite often only need to use my dish washer every three -four days but somtimes i notice where the dirty dishes, cups ect have been left around waiting to make up enough to put the dishwasher on, some things might have a bit of mold here and there which bothers me alot and i feal i need to put the dish washer on atleast three times in a row to make sure its all defenately clean, but what i needed to know was would two times be enough as i get through alot of tablets but the the main thing is the water usage, any advise would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Use the PRE-RINSE cycle then, that’s precisely what it’s for. 😀

ParticipantBosch exxcel water temp advise.
When using this dish washer does the water reach a hot enough temperature to kill any germs, thank you.

There are some domestic dishwasers that have the 80degree plus “sanitisation” cycle that you need to have to comply with regulations for care homes etc., but you don’t normally need it in a domestic situation. Anyway, most bugs won’t grow on a clean surface once it’s dry.
If you’re still worried, you could always use a chlorine based dishwasher detergent like “bryta” – that should kill off more or less anything. Downside is your kitchen will smell a bit like an old fashioned swimming pool when you open the door 😉
Don’t think that reputable machine manufacturers or detergent manufacturers would have products on the market that don’t do the job when used as directed.

In a word yes, but I’m simply answering your question and especially your term of phrase, namely “any”. Even Domestos only kills “99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of household germs” after all said and done.(there’s always a hidden germ someone, with a microscope perhaps, has yet to discover)….
But seriously, the higher temperatures that a dishwasher attains coupled with the dispersal of detergent will indeed kill best part of all “germs”. By virtue of the fact that most (and I don’t include Ecover in this) contains chlorine based BLEACH…..a known and effective way of dealing with “germs”.
Bleach based detergents will clear away germs even at a lower temperature. Virtually all dishwashers will reach a temperature of at least 60 degrees in order they be classified as dishwashers in the first place!
Your Bosch machine is well capable of doing that and most, even the cheaper supermarket branded powders or tablets, will sanitise your crocks and cutlery safe enough to use.
HTH? 😀
