Hi I wonder if anyone can offer some advice.

We have a Bosch Exxcel dishwasher – about 3 years old. The Zeichnung (drawing number) is 9000087434 1127062726X (I hope this is the serial number of the model as I can’t find any others at the moment).

Last night the check water light came on. We followed the advice in other bits of the forum and tipped the water out of the bottom of the machine hoping it was salt over filling or something! On the next test the light came on again and more water needed to be tipped out – so we have a leak I guess.

I been watching the machine with sides off to try to work out where the leak is from. At the start of the test there was a bit of water in all parts of the base but the area around the the white foam disc that lifts the cut off for the flood warning had a small dry patch around the block that holds the hinge for the white disc.

On the second test…. The machine started up…..
Every so often the water around the white float/disc advances by a small amount. No matter how hard I look I can’t see where the water is coming from. I can see most of the pipes taking water around the machine but none of these seem to have a drip.

The intermittent nature of the leak makes me think its something happening during the filling and washing part – but what happens every 5 to 10 mins during the first part of the cycle?

It doesn’t seem to leak/happen when the small chamber just to the left of the red water cut of mechanism fills and empties.

There is a flat plastic set of chambers to which inlet and outlet pipes are connected on the left side. I think 1+2 are outlet – there doesn’t seem to be a leak when these are full. Maybe there is a leak when 3,4 and 5 have water in but its a bit hard to tell!

The machine was on a 127 minute cycle and since 60 mins has been making a constant noise but no leak.

Could any one give me a clue as to where the leak might be from? Probably difficult from a distance I know.

If this makes no sense please let me know!

The dishwasher then did flood a bit more about 40 mins when the flood cut out tripped.

The view from here a little hazy I must confess. 😉

Common leaks come from one or more of the following: –

    Main circulating pump seals
    Heater diverter valve
    Water inlet matrix
    Salt container collar seal

Access to these for the most part is difficult and the uninitiated can often cause more problems from the outset. Calling in a local repairman may be your best approach in cases like this. 🙂
