I have an 8 yr old Bosch dishwasher …

    SGS4442GB/01
    today the control PCB blew.
Bearing in mind its has been v reliable and otherwise is in good condition
do you think its worth changing the PCB out since Bosch want £100 for a new one ?

I could send it to QER but I’ll still be looking at £50 + and have never used them before.

How likely is it that another component has blown and caused a mains spike to fry the PCB ?. Both pump motors test OK door loom looks good.

BTW I’m and ex self employed washer basher – now a hire company service engineer.

Any opininions appreciated esp’ from Bosch techs.

    Cheers

Depending on how bad the damage is, you could have a go at repairing the board yourself. Often it’s just a relay joint on Bosch dw boards. Might look worse until you clean away the burn marks.

I’ve took the board out but sadly its BER.

One of the relays has well and truly blown, lifting tracks, so I guess QER is out as well.

Guess its time for a new washer.

I always buy Bosch everthing. How much better are the Exxcel range over the ‘base’ SGS range anyone ?

    Worth the extra £50 ?
