ParticipantHi all,
Model number SGS56E12GB 🙂
This was blocked last week, and not in any obvious place down at the internal bottom. I did try and “contra-flow” the outlet pipe with my garden hose which seemed to sort it out for a week. (was that a bad idea :rolls: ? )
So, now it’s not draining again, but also “Check water” is on immediately and won’t start any cycle.
I’ve been reading through similar old posts here, and got the side off to have a nose around. There’s water right down at the bottom so I guess that needs tidying up.
Observing it running, I see the water undulating up and down, but barely get to the top of this section. Sometimes it gets high enough for a bit to trickle down the far right section and down to the outlet.
Not sure if that’s normal operation or not. Does that suggest a low pressure (eg from a leak! which would make sense with the water in the bottom? ), or could a blockage account for that somehow? (In terms of blockages, one guy on an old thread mention a “matrix” – what’s that?)
And on a side note:http://i.imgur.com/eT0I4na.jpg
Is this from the dishwasher ? I found it nearby, and am not sure if I somehow took it out the other week.
Cheers

Drain off the flooded base completely, it might fill then. The clear nioprene flap valve fits in the slot inside the drain pump cover. (Note: it won’t drain with that pump cover off)

Well I didn’t drain it, but put that flap valve thing in…
It seemed the same except the water stop underlating because of the flap. (It was hitting the top of the second-from-right up pipe on the side – which makes sense – if no water’s coming in, then that’s the extent of the pump).
Ran it with the inlet tap toggled (just to check I wasn’t being a total muppet – but it was on, so i turned it off), and it gave that small-dieing-animal sound… Turned inlet tap on again, worked fine – dunno if that reset it somehow.
Anyway, thanks 🙂
