I have looked through lots of posts trying to diagnose why isn’t. So far I have thoroughly cleaned the arm, checked the pipe from bottom to top isn’t blocked and cleaned out the bottom up to the impeller. So far no blockages, and no improvement.
I thought I would have one last try before calling a repair person out, as there have been some other symptoms that may or may not be related.In recent weeks the dishwasher was making a ticking noise when finished, similar to the noise on the drying cycle. Then last week the fuse in the plug failed. I replaced the fuse and since then the top has not been cleaning correctly. I am assuming this is related? Also the dishwasher no longer stops when the door is opened.
Model SGS45E02GB – apart from a recall fix this is the first problem in 9 years.

It needs a new heater unit to cure. Costly fix on an old machine. 🙁

would that solve the door opening and getting very wet issue too?

It is possible the issues are connected but only at odds of 50 x 50. Other issues may lurk inside. The base tray is flooded and the anti flood device has tripped causing the pump to work even with the door open. The water diverter device, that is stopping the top spray from working and an integral part of the heater unit, can leak and cause the fuse to trip. As I said before, a potential costly fix on a 9 yr old machine. 🙁
