Bosch Exxcel WFX3267 lost marbles

Hi all,

My trusty Bosch Exxcel washing machine has lost its grip on reality. It has been working fine, then I replaced the carbon brushes due to the motor not turning. All was well for about a week, then the program started playing up. The program clicks down to 1 minute left then just carries on going saying one minute left forever. It also gets stuck on one part of the program, and you have to manually move it to drain for example. Not sure if it’s co-incidence but it is also adding some dirty marks to the cloths and there is a sinister hot smell on occasion.

It’s about 7 years old and gets lots of use.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Nick,

You did check the motor and clean the comm on it didn’t you?

Marking is likely to be coincidence as there’s no way any washing machine will mark clothing usually other than from a bearing collapse and, you’d notice that.

I’m not up on Bosch machines so someone else may be able to offer pointers.

Check the heating element . May be open circuit OR you may find one of the connectors burnt on the heater.
