I’ve removed the back panel and tried pressing the red reset button but it doesn’t click so it seems it’s not that.

I believe there are 3 thermostats (including 1 under the hose – not looked yet). When I’ve recharged my multimeter battery I’ll test the thermostats and the heater element.

In the meantime, I’m not sure how to remove the element. I’ve removed 3 screws at the top of the grey housing – and two at the bottom through the white. I thought I’d be able to lift out the entire housing containing the element etc, but perhaps there is more to it …

I’m sure there are people who’ve done this before so it you can tell me how to remove the element I’ll be very pleased. Presumably the element is removable and replaceable in this model … ?

This machine is over 10 years old and his is the first issue of any sort. As such I am assuming it is going to be worth fixing …

OK – now I have tested the two visible thermostats for continuity and they seem ok.

However, the element is not ok – no continuity.

Any advice on how to remove it (See photo) ?

OK – now I can answer my own question which might be of use to other people.

Having removed the top of the machine to look down at the back from the inside, I could see that there were no screws hidden behind the white, so it looked as if I simply had to undo all the visible screws circled in red in the photo (the green screws were removed to take off the thermostat so I could remove the grey panel completely.

Once off, there were just 4 screws holding the element in place.

Just need to order a new element now.
