    Hi all,

Great site. Hope someone can give me some pointers on this one!

I have a Bosch Exxcel WVT1260GB/01, just over 2 years old. Instead of going through it’s normal wash and spin cycle, it’s wash cycle gets to 1 minute left and just keeps going.

I.E. it does not perform a spin cycle, just constantly washes.

If it is turned off, then turned to spin cycle, it performs the spin cycle and ends.

Have lost the manual, but there are no F faults displayed. The only display at the end of the spin cycle is -0- but i’m not sure if this is a fault code or what we would normally see at the end of the cycle? never noticed until the above fault appeared!

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks.

    PP

Sounds like the heating element has gone open circuit . The appliance is waiting for the water to heat , whilst still counting down so you get to the cycle time end but the machines still waiting.

you will need to check the resistance of the element – It should be approx 23m – 30 ohms.

    Power off if checking yourself

Re: Bosch Exxcel WVT1260GB/01 Continuous cycle

    Thanks for the reply.

Will have a look at the element later today (with wm unplugged), but thought we would give a tumble dry a bash and i can feel heat from the door.

Is this a sign that the heating element is ok or does the heat from the tumble dryer come from elsewhere?

You may note from this question, i am not a wm engineer!

    it is a different element

the dryer heat comes from a heater box on the top of the machine, which is blown air

the wash heater is placed at the bottom of the tank, and is an immersion heater

worth checking with a meter, what nomadpaul is saying is right, its just a time-out, theres something the machine hasnt done

a simple test with a meter will confirm this for you

    Thanks nomadpaul & helo_75.

Looks like you were correct with the element, it looks shot without even measuring the resistance!

Can you just confirm that there should be 2 x male spade contacts on the element which join the round metal bits that disappear inside the machine?

My element has one with a grey wire attached and just the round metal on the other side with a grey wire hanging there, not connected to anything. I did find a few bits and pieces under the wm the other day, but assumed they were from a previous under warrenty repair and have thrown them. If memory serves me correct, they look like they may have fallen off the element!

PS. Cannot find a new element for my machine. Any other machine with the same element?

    Really appreciate everyones help.
