hi guys went to this yesterday removed the sides and then thought oh bugger! this is the first time i have seen this version and i think i might need a little help. customer says it works but no heat on wash or dry said it has shown e9 or e23 but she is a bit vague on this.looked at bosch parts diagrams and they show a heat pump but no seperate element so not sure if they incorporate this into the whole thing. if i find the heater then at least i can make a start and work from there, oh and i have not worked out how the base releases yet either. this one has definitly removed me from my comfort zone.
thanks for any helpOctober 11, 2011 at 12:13 pm #361050Martin

Firstly Jim E09 does indeed relate to an issue with the heat pump. E23 is a drain pump problem so I’m not sure if the 2 are possibly related in this case being as your customer “is a bit vague” and all?
Access to the pump impellor is easy enough. Just release the pump cover under the filter to get at it. The heatpump is a different story and involves quite a bit of surgery and expense.
Next question…is the machine still under the 2 year warranty? If so get BSH to sort it. If not I will do my best to help you replace the heatpump. Give me you email address and I will see what I can do..OK?

just an aside to this;
i was faced with one of these not spraying properly and having removed the side panel i groaned when i saw the spray pump. however soon discovered that it comes out quite easily and was even able to dismantle it and remove the blockage. so don’t be put off these even though they look cheap and nasty like the whirlpool and indes{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}it pumps.October 11, 2011 at 7:20 pm #361052jimluxe

thanks for the quick replys Martin and keith. had loads of calls to do yesterday and never had time to check the the machine properly and was put off by the changes inside.anyway tested it today and the fault is E09 and that problem is heating circuit fault, but we know that anyway.do you know if this is a straight forward heater fault on this model or a possible dry joint on the board or sensor fault ? as regards to the heat pump is it two parts like the later hotpoint or one unit? looking at the motor it has three plugs going to it and i assume the thicker red wire plug is the element connections but not sure what readings i am looking for as there are 4or 5 of them. also reading the notes on the fault guide it says i cant change modules unless i work for bosch! annother nail in the coffin!

Heat pump comes as one part { heater and wash motor } New part has changed so theres some wiring mods. 10/10 it will be open circuit heater. module fault is uncommon.
Cut off the cir-clip. Pull out the motor. Can be done by taking off sides and front kick plate. first time will be about an hour. 20/30 about average

The guy that emailed me on this subject (via UKW)but didn’t leave a reply address: –
No, I’ve never changed a heatpump on this model, no I don’t know what the wiring mod involves….sorry. 🙁
