Any ideas how old these machines are ?

Its my daughters and while it washes and spins ok theres a clunk at the end of the spin and if you rotate the drum it makes a grating noise

there was loads of black fine grit ? particles coming out of the pump when i first checked and ran it but not on 3 washes since since

black staining on the rubber drum seal too

so whether its worth spending time or money on it is a big ???

    ———————————————————————–
It does not seem to be the build quality of my Bosch WFF1201
which has stainless steel casing around the drum and is twice as heavy

Having got the back off so that i can better locate the carbon brushes which i am sure must be the problem

Wow are you covering the forums with one subject here or what?

The age of any Bosch appliance can be gleaned from the FD number. That’s a 4 digit number tagged on the end of the ENr number (model number). Give us that 4 digit number and we can tell you what year and month it was made. 😉

Any more questions about a single machine then do please confine them to one thread. 😀

So, having established these facts and, as your soubriquet suggests, are you still up for a DIY fix on your offsprings machine? Or have you stopped at this point?

    Re: Bosch Exxcell110 WF02264GB

I would like to fix both machines especially mine as its a hot and cold fill and a superb washer

Mine the carbon brushes are 2 cm long so as i believe new ones are 3.6cm
do i need to change them or is it more likely to be dodgy pump even though its propeller spins

Daughters machine …………how would i establish whether its bra wire or dodgy bearings
what would have created all the fine black grit that came out of the pump

The brushes are just fine. Check the pump Impellor, if there is any sign of lateral movement, and that is very likely judging its age, then the pump needs replacing.

Bra wire is so obvious giving a distinct scraping/clicking noise as it rubs against the drum. Plus you can spot the wire through the holes using a torch.

Detritus lumps from a limescaled heater. Again a torch in the tub in the 6 o’clock position will show the state of the heater.

    Re: Bosch Exxcell110 WF02264GB

Thank you I will put the brush back

and get a replacement pump as that would seem likely culprit
do i need the whole pump unit or can one get just the motor bit ?

will get torch and have a good look around daughters machine
are there instructions anywhere on how to remove the wire if thats whats there ….i dont think its bearings because theres no noise when spinning or washing just a clunk when spinning ends and the scraping sound when moving the drum by hand

    Both are available.

diyisgreat wrote:are there instructions anywhere on how to remove the wire if thats whats there ….

Removing the sump hose from the tub or by taking the heater out is the usual route.
