Hi, when we turn off the fan oven, as the fan is slowing down there’s a tapping sound. Turns out the top element screw was loose so the blade was clipping it. I’ve tightened it up but still it comes loose after a few days and the blade taps it when slowing down. Looking at the blade, it’s not totally flat at the back and looks a little warped in places. I don’t know if this is normal (?) but was thinking I should maybe replace the fan blade. I’ve looked online but can’t find a fan blade without buying the fan motor with it – do you know if they are available? What are your thoughts on the (possibly) warped blade and the tapping? Meanwhile I’ve removed the top element screw as the screws at the bottom of the element seem to hold it in place pretty well, for now and I didn’t want the blade making contact with anything. Thanks!

if the screw comes loose after you tighten it there must be a problem there. if it was tight it would not loosen which leads me to think corrosion may be a problem due to age

Thanks for the quick reply Dave. The screw does tighten well into the hole, so I didn’t consider corrosion. What can be done if this is an issue? Also, have you any ideas about the fan blade? Should the back of it be totally flat around the edges? It seems to go up and down and be quite ‘wavey’. Is it supposed to be like this and I just haven’t noticed it before, do you think, or has something made it do this? Thanks.
