Bosch fan oven element replacement – HBN7050GB01

How am I going to cook the goose now?!

The element has blown and I can see it is strapped at the top which is held by a screw behind the fan.

I could not remove the fan so took 3 more screws out from the plate behind the fan.

Also lost one element connector behind this plate which I thought would just come free but it doesn’t.

Am I beyond help?

OK, feeling a bit happier!

All sorted – except I still cannot get the fan off it’s shaft ?????

It’s not unheard of that you have to cut the things off as they virtually weld themselves in place. 😕

Heres what I do…..
I remove nut and collar (obviously :rolls:
Then I squirt a sensible amount of WD40 or equivalent onto the protruding shaft.
Carefully grab the shaft with pliers (watch the thread) then whilst keeping hold of shaft wiggle the fan vigorously from left to right until its released enough to pull off 😉

It’s off now – scared of using enough welly well before.

All I’ve got to do now is get a new element (hopefully) in the morning.

Might get my Easter goose after all – I should be so lucky
