Bosch Freezer GSU2606 gb/42 Controller?

Hello

After about 15 years without problem, the freezer has suddenly stopped working. 🙁

There’s power at the machine, the on/off button works but doesn’t light, the door operated light works, but no display and nothing functions. I’m guessing this is the main controller board. Could it be anything else? If it is the controller board, is it repairable?

Looking at the Bosch Spare Parts web site the control board is £107 🙁

At that price, I suppose it may well be worth fixing, given that a new more-or-less equivalent freezer is about £500. I presume the PCB’s very easy to replace, once it’s opened up?

Could the symptoms be caused by anything else? Thanks.

It’s started working again. 😮

As a experiment, I thought I’d turn it on again (it’d been off for over 24 hours), and it sprang to life. It went down to -18 in less than three hours and now appears to be working normally.

Could it be an intermittent fault on the PCB or something else?

It’s in a smallish room off the kitchen, otherwise unheated, along with a fridge/freezer.
