Bosch Fridge Freezer cutting out

Hi there,

I have a Bosch fridge freezer KGV2620GB/02. It stops working after a few hours. If i pull out the plug for a few hours and plug it back in it starts again but goes off again after a few hours. When it does work the back of the fridge frosts up really quickly.

I have read an old post from 2005 about a different model that talks about replacing a control module and shorting out a couple of wires.

Can anyone give me advice on this fix. The control module for this model is £50 so would like to know if this will do the trick before ordering one.

before you lay money out for a board i would check the defrost element.wen it comes onto defrost the unit stops.and should come back on after doing a defrost.if the heater does not come on the fridge will stay of.by turning it of by the plug you are doing a factory reset.regards john

Where have you put the fridge freezer ?Also the ambient temprature sensor may have failed which is what you refered to changing the board.changing the board isnt nessesary there is a kit available to repair the fault of the ambient sensor.

Sorry if i appear daft here. The fridge freezer does not have a frost free function and you have to turn it off to defrost it. Will it have a defrost sensor? In the fridge or freexer compartments? What’s the kit for changing the ambient sensor?

Is it woth getting a man out? THey seem to charge £120 which is half the cost of a new one.

As Bryan has said, this is usually due to a faulty evaporator sensor. Bosch can supply a kit that bypasses this internal thermistor.
