    Hi
I have a Bosch LogiXX frost free fridge freezer – can’t find a label to tell me what specific model and I can’t remember when I bought it but its probably 5yrs old?
For ages now the freezer has been icing up – smooth solid clear ice, forms in layers, often with water leaking out of the front bottom corner of the freezer door (ruined my floor!). Bosch told me to turn it off for a few hours to defrost it, but that didn’t work. Then they suggested turning it off and leaving it off for 72hrs, but that’s tricky with nowhere else to put all the food – so haven’t managed to try that!
For quite a few months now its been making the occasional ‘frog underwater’ sort of ‘blub, blub, blub’ noise – but only does this intermittantly.
Last weekend we pulled all the ice out again and for the first time ever it took 24 hours to get the freezer back down to temp (forgot about using the super cool button – but never had to do that before) and today the fan has been making a horrendous noise (although that appears to have stopped now!)
Is my fridge/freezer terminally ill or is it worth calling an engineer?
    Many thanks for your advice.

You need to follow the Bosch advice and give it a good long defrosting…..not just a couple of hours. It might be worth checking out the rear of the appliance. There will be a tube leading from the bottom of the rear wall to a container on top of the compressor ( motor ) Its worth taking this off and seing if its blocked with a jelly like substance. If it is , clean it out and refit it.

From your description , i suspect the freezer drain hole is blocked. Is the clear ice build up pooling in the base of the freezer compartment , under the bottom drawer because if it is , thats a classic sympton of a blocked drain hole.
