    Hi
My Bosch KKU3301 fridge freezer has recently developed a problem. On the regular setting the freezer will rise above the highest recommended temperature (-18), causing the alarm to sound. however, if I put it on Superfreeze, it works properly, maintaining the set temperature.

The problem began shortly after moving the fridge about a metre while decorating.

Is permanently running the superfreeze function an expensive and eco-unfriendly compromise solution, if fixing the basic problem is costly? This is a frost-free model, late 1990s.

    Thanks.

    UPDATE
No replies to this one but the problem hasn’t gone away!

In fact, it seems to be getting more critical.

I’ve pulled the fridge away from the wall a couple of inches to improve ventilation, but that hasn’t made a difference. Tonight I scraped a lot of ice off the rear wall of the freezer compartment (it’s supposed to be frost-free). Maybe that will help. The fan on the internal rear wall appears to be working.

    Any other tips?

    Thanks

Your appliance looks like a smaller version of my old KGU3201.

Dare I suggest defrosting the freezer compartment overnight, and then observe whether the symptoms return within a few weeks?

If your appliance is behaving like mine used to do, I found I had to defrost the blocked evaporator every early autumn following a ‘hot summer’ otherwise the temperature alarm kept going off.
