    Hi

I have a Bosch builtin fridge model number KIL2337GB/01 and I believe the thermostat has stopped working – fridge not cooling and turning the control knob doesn’t cause a click. Trying to remove themostat cover. I have removed knob, nut retaining themostat, fixing screw, bulb cover and bulb and seal round bulb holder and cover retaining screw. The cover appears to attached to the fridge at the bulb end. What do I do to remove the cover? Tried to attached photos but I appear to have used my allowance!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

photos can be used if you host them on another server like google pics and then post a public link

    Thank you Dave

I have tried that but it doesn’t want to move. Will try again later.

    Good evening Dave
Once the retaining screw has been removed the whole control unit just pulls off! It is held in place with a four pin connector. See additional pictures.
Unfortunately I think the thermostat is OK which means problems in the compressor area – motor, capacitor or relay. It’s completely silent.

Many thanks for your help. Hope the information is useful to others.

to confirm stat is ok you need to use a multi meter to make sure all connection on the stat link up

    Good evening Dave

I’ve used a multimeter – across 3 and 6 (power switch) and is open when knob in off position and closed everywhere else. Multimeter across 4 and 3 is continuous no matter where the knob is set. I assume therefore that the compressor should run but it doesn’t. I’ve put the thermostat in another fridge and will check tomorrow to see if 4 and 3 are open.

I’ve added a photo of the thermostat showing info on connector numbers.

    Many thanks

    Doug
