Bosch Fridge not cold enough – UPDATED KVR 1501 GB?

Update:

Some more info – looks like the model number could be KVR 1501 GB/01 although the label is smudged slightly around the first 3 letters.

It also has the text FD 7004 on the label.

It seems to be trying to come on every 5 mins, then cuts out after about 10 seconds with a click. Also sounds like a bit of vibration when it cuts out.

The inside light is working fine.

I’ve read some of the other posts/common problems pages – but still not sure if it is the compressor or hopefully some other component that is at fault. General advice seems to be that if it is compressor then better to renew.

Any advice on what to check next would be greatly appreciated.

my Bosch integrated fridge has not been getting to low enough temp recently.

It seems that it is not running as often as it should. For example , if I power it off for 5 mins and restart it makes usual startup noises almost like pump running and then cuts out after about 10 seconds.

I’d expect it to usually make these noises for a longer time.

I don’t have the model number – it is over 10 years old. The manual has a code 1 709 986 818 print on the side, but don’t think this is the model number. I’ve also checked the inside of the fridge for a label but can’t see anything there.

There also seems to be some little noise when I open the door, so something still going on.

It does seem to make the louder noise (like at start up) periodically, so it is almost like it is cutting out – some sensor issue ?

Any help appreciated on anything that can be checked out. Like to make sure it is not a straightforward part replacement, before making a new purchase.
